Seven skill dimensions

  3. Viability — ensuring the business model works financially
  4. Feasibility — confirming you can build and deliver
  5. Timing — market timing and readiness
  6. Defensibility — building lasting competitive advantages
  7. Mission — aligning with purpose and long-term vision

Skill states

  • Available — ready for you to start
  • In Progress — you’ve started but haven’t completed all lessons
  • Completed — all lessons in the skill are done

Lesson plans

Click into any skill to see its lesson plan — a series of lessons with video content, reading materials, and exercises. Each lesson includes:

  • Duration estimate
  • Video content (where available)
  • Practical exercises tied to your actual business model

Starting a skill

Click “Start” on any available skill. Lessons use credits — each lesson start deducts from your credit balance.

Q: How do I learn about a specific topic like pricing or customer interviews? Go to Skills and find the relevant dimension. You can also ask LEANSpark “teach me about pricing” in chat and it’ll point you to the right lessons.

Q: Do Skills cost credits? Yes — starting each lesson uses credits. The skill overview shows the credit cost before you begin.

Q: Can I do Skills in any order? Yes, you can start any available skill. However, LEANSpark may recommend a specific order based on your business model’s current state.

Q: How do Skills relate to my canvas? Skills teach you the frameworks behind each canvas section. What you learn directly applies to improving your business model.
