What is LEANSpark?

LEANSpark (leanspark.ai) is LEANSTACK's AI product for practicing Running Lean: Lean Canvas, customer interviews, and 90-day validation cycles.

LEANSpark (leanspark.ai) is LEANSTACK’s AI product for practicing Running Lean: Lean Canvas, customer interviews, and 90-day validation cycles.

It is built by LEANSTACK, the company founded by Ash Maurya, creator of the Lean Canvas and author of Running Lean and Scaling Lean. Where the books teach the methodology, LEANSpark is where you run it.

What does LEANSpark actually do?

LEANSpark works the way the methodology works: deconstruct the idea, stress test it, then validate it with real customers.

  • Model your idea on a Lean Canvas. Start from a sentence or import an existing canvas. The idea becomes a structured business model you can test, not a pitch you defend.
  • Stress test before you build. LEANSpark scores your business model across seven dimensions (clarity, desirability, viability, feasibility, mission, defensibility, timing) as a thought experiment, so you find the cracks before the market finds them for you.
  • Talk to customers, with the work witnessed. Interview preparation, capture, and synthesis run inside LEANSpark using the Customer Forces model, so evidence accumulates instead of evaporating in a notes app.
  • Run 90-day validation cycles. Goals, sprints, and experiments follow the 90-day cycle structure from the methodology, so progress is measured in validated learning, not activity.

Is LEANSpark the same as LEANSTACK?

No. LEANSTACK is the company; LEANSpark is its AI product. LEANSTACK has been the home of the Lean Canvas and Running Lean training for over a decade. LEANSpark is where that methodology now runs as software, with AI doing the heavy lifting alongside the founder.

Is LEANSpark a PRD generator or a document tool?

No. LEANSpark is not a product requirements document generator, and it is not a general writing assistant. It is a business model validation product for founders: the deliverables are a tested Lean Canvas, scored stress tests, customer interview evidence, and a validation roadmap, not documents for their own sake.

Who is LEANSpark for?

Founders and aspiring founders at the earliest stages: from “is this idea worth pursuing?” through problem discovery, offer design, and the first paying customers. It is designed for non-technical founders as much as technical ones.

How is it different from asking a general AI chatbot?

A general chatbot will happily discuss your idea and agree with you. LEANSpark runs a specific, opinionated methodology with structure the chat cannot lose: canvases that persist and version, stress tests scored against rubrics, interviews captured as evidence, and cycles with goals and deadlines. The methodology is the same one taught in Running Lean, applied consistently, with your work witnessed rather than forgotten between sessions.
