100X Founder · Cohort 1 · By Application · May 12 – June 8, 2026
From 100 to 10.
The first 100X Founder cohort had 100 founders. This one has 10 teams.
100 founders shared my time. You won't have to.
Taught by Ash Maurya — creator of Lean Canvas, author of Running Lean + Scaling Lean, founder of LEANSTACK.
Most founders don't finish a problem-discovery cycle on their first try.
They start interviews and stall. They collect signal but can't synthesize it. They know what's next but can't see the path.
In my closing email to the original 100X cohort, I wrote: "Most founders need 1.5 to 2 ninety-day cycles to hit problem-solution fit. If you're not there yet, that's completely normal."
This workshop is the push.
Who this is for
Doers stuck on synthesis.
This is a high-touch unblock cohort. It only works if you've done the foundation work and you're ready to be visible in your progress.
This is for you if:
- You've completed your Lean Canvas v1 (in LEANSpark or anywhere)
- You've conducted at least 3 customer interviews — in any form you can bring
- You can name your current stall point in one sentence
- You're willing to show your work weekly and be a referenceable case study post-cohort
This is not for you if:
- You're still picking which idea to work on
- You haven't scheduled an interview yet
- You want a self-paced course you can fit around full-time work
- You're looking for marketing tactics or launch playbooks
If you're earlier than this, Cohort 2 in June opens to a wider audience — join the waitlist.
My commitment to you
10 founding teams.
10 referenceable case studies.
By June 8, 2026 — the day Cohort 1 ends — I commit to producing 10 referenceable case studies. Ten founding teams who came in stuck on problem-solution fit and left with a validated mafia offer ready to launch.
Your story, your face, your company on leanspark.ai/case-studies when the page launches with this cohort.
That's why I'm taking 10 teams, not 50. I cannot personally guarantee outcomes for 50.
"He taught me to read what customers actually do, not what they say they want."
— Jonatan Sombie · 100X Founder original cohort · founder, storage-layer for AI agents
How we work
Five rules of the cohort
-
Practice trumps theory.
You won't sit through more lectures. You've read the books. Every minute of live time is applied work — on your data, with the cohort.
-
Everyone here is stuck on something.
Admission requires you've done the foundation work — canvas, interviews, real attempts. Which means everyone in this room has the framework. The cohort is for getting unstuck, not for getting taught.
-
No lecture. Learn by working.
Each session: you bring your work, the cohort critiques it, I pattern-match what I see. New distinctions get installed just-in-time, when you need them — never before.
-
Traction is the goal.
Not a validated idea on paper. A real mafia offer ready to test against real customers. By June 8, ten case studies of founders who got there.
-
Together we go farther.
You'll spend more time working alongside 9 other founders than listening to me. Their stuck points sharpen yours; yours sharpen theirs. The cohort is the multiplier — that's why it's 10 teams, not 1:1, and not 50.
The 4 weeks
What we actually do, week by week
One half-day live session per week. Friday office hours for direct unblocking. A 30-min 1:1 with me in week 4.
- Synthesize what you have
From raw signal to first patterns
Bring everything you've collected — interviews, mining notes, canvas drafts. We sort signal from noise as a cohort. Friday office hours: real-time critique of your synthesis.
You leave week 1 with: a sharpened broad-match hypothesis, ready to narrow.
- Narrow the match
Pattern recognition across your evidence
Identify the underserved segment hiding in your data. Run the broad → narrow match discipline live with the cohort. Simulations on the trap that costs most founders six months: confusing rationalized signal with real signal.
You leave week 2 with: a narrow-match pattern triangulated across your evidence.
- Mafia offer sketch
Translate signal into a testable offer
From narrow-match pattern to a concrete, testable mafia offer. UVP hypothesis, early-adopter targeting, a price point you'd actually charge. Cohort critique of each team's draft.
You leave week 3 with: a mafia offer sketch ready to test.
- Verdict + 1:1 with Ash
Customer/Problem Fit verdict + bridge to launch
30-min 1:1 synthesis with me — pattern-match your signal, verdict on your offer, decide your next step. Cohort capstone: each team presents their Customer/Problem Fit verdict and a mafia-offer sketch ready to launch in the next stage.
You leave the cohort with: a verdict you can defend, a launch-ready mafia offer, and your story for the case-studies page.
Throughout: cohort community runs inside LEANSpark. Async work, peer interviews, and discovery critique all live in the same app you're using for the work.

"I'm taking 10 teams because that's what I can personally commit to. By June 8, I'm on the hook for 10 case studies. That's the deal."
Fifteen years of teaching the messy work of finding problems worth solving. Coached founders across three continents, six funds, and a couple thousand businesses. LEANSpark — the AI co-founder platform you'll use during the workshop — is the system I've been refining the whole time.

Questions
How are applications reviewed?
I read each one personally. I'm looking for clarity on your stall, evidence you've done the foundation work, and signal that you'll do the work alongside me. Selection isn't a black box — if I decline, I'll tell you why.
What if I'm not accepted?
You'll get an honest reply within 24 hours with a recommended next step — Cohort 2 (June), LEANSpark self-serve, or another path. Not all applications fit this specific cohort, and saying so isn't rejection — it's matching.
Can my co-founder come too?
Yes — that's the per-team pricing. Up to 3 founders per team at $1,495 flat. 4+ requires a brief conversation with me. Co-founders attend live sessions together; the 1:1 in week 4 covers the team.
What if I did the original 100X Founder cohort?
You're exactly who this is built for. The original cohort ran 13 weeks with shorter sessions — broader, lighter per session. This is the version I wanted to run from the start: 10 teams, half-day sessions, Friday office hours, 1:1 with me, outcome commitment. If you're stuck mid-cycle, this is the push.
What's the time commitment?
About 4 hours live + 4 hours async per week, for four weeks. If you can't put in 8 hours a week, don't apply — it's built for people who can do the work alongside me.
What if I miss a session?
All live Monday sessions are recorded. Friday office hours are not — they're working sessions, not lectures. With only 4 main sessions, missing more than one meaningfully hurts your progress and the cohort dynamic — but it's recoverable.
What's the refund policy?
No refunds. Each accepted team takes one of 10 spots that other founders applied for. The application is your decision moment — if you're uncertain, talk to me before applying rather than after.
Can I pay by invoice instead of card?
Reply to your acceptance email and we'll arrange. Standard route is Stripe; invoicing is available on request.
What happens after the four weeks?
You continue working in LEANSpark with your validated problem and mafia-offer sketch — running the campaign to test demand. If you want ongoing 1:1 coaching past the cohort, that option opens after week 4.
